Trend Talk With Fashion Blogger of Studded Kisses!
Hello guys, we’re discussing trends and how they affect our personal style, with Roxii Hoare-Smith aspiring fashion journalist and blogger of Studded Kisses! Roxii comes from London sharing her style and sending studded kisses to all!
The Eye: What are some of the best websites to stay updated with on fashion trends?
Roxii: I love reading fashion blogs and my favourite blogs are She wears fashion, Fashion Influx and Fashion Filth as these bloggers always seem to be ahead of the trends! I do think bloggers know best!
The Eye: What would you tell someone who feels pressured to keep up with the latest fashion craze?
Roxii: Fashion is constantly changing so it is almost impossible to keep up. If you do want to but do not have the funds always look for cheap alternatives on ebay or try making something yourself - a little bit of DIY! You don’t have to keep up with the trends though, dress how you like - you don’t have to follow the crowd!
The Eye: Do you follow trends often,if so how do you incorporate them in your wardrobe?
Roxii: I do usually just wear what I like but sometimes certain trends appeal to me. I mix and match the latest trends with old clothes I own. For example neon has been a big trend this year, it’s an easy colour to add to normal outfit and a trend which can be easily incorporated with a dull or boring outfit and brighten it up!
The Eye: Do you think experimenting with new trends is more beneficial or hinders originality of that person’s style?
Roxii: You can still follow trends but add your own style to it. You don’t have to wear it the same way as everyone else does, that is what fashion is all about - experimenting with fashion and doing your own thing, which could lead to a trend everyone follows. If you follow a trend but add your own style to it, that is what benefits your original style.
The Eye: As a blogger do you think the fashion blogs have enough power to determine which trends make it big?
Roxii: I think they do. I often see things on blogs first and the trends seems to hit the high street or magazines months later! For example disco pants are pretty popular right now, I was reading about those on fashion blogs two years ago!
The Eye: Where can we see more of you?
