Back to School Interview With Purple Ivy
Ivyanna (Ivy for short) is from Ghana but currently living in the U.K.Ivy has a fun, feminine, style, full of color and nipped in waist silhouettes. After reading Ivy’s blog, Purple Ivy, I couldn’t help but imagine the glory that is this young woman’s closet! Ivy definitely knows how to make her wardrobe work for her, so lets get right to those back to school style tips!
The Eye: How do you feel about repeating outfits, is it a do or a don’t?
Ivy: It’s definitely a do for me. I never understand people who wear something once and never again. Quite frankly it goes to show their lack of styling if they cannot make another outfit again.
The Eye: Do you have any tips on how to remix a look?
Ivy: Try buying many pieces in light and neutral tones that way you can mix and match it with the other more daring colorful pieces you have. Accessories like hats are great ways to.
The Eye: What would you tell someone who wants to thrift shop, but feels enormously overwhelmed?
Ivy: There are LOTS of thrift stores in every country with extensive rails of clothes so yes it can be a very overwhelming thing, you have to go through those rails to find something. Try and make it fun, take the girls with you and split up to cover each section. Going on your own? I, then think music is your only savior so don’t forget your iPod/MP3/Phone.
The Eye: What do you consider a mandatory piece to someone’s closet?
Ivy: A good pair of ankle boots. Doesn’t matter which style but I think everyone should have a pair ‘cos it can take you through all the seasons and it will never look out of place.
The Eye: Where are the best places to look for discounts and bargains?
Ivy: eBay is my number one stop for sure. Its has literally all you could need in one place. Sites like Voucher Codes and Fashion Voucher Codes are great too.
The Eye:Where can we see more of you?
