Plaid dominated this season as far as prints, so this post is dedicated to the underdog prints.I love plaid, but I love having options and sometimes you get so captured in one print you can forget about the others.I want to bring attention to a few prints that attempt to get some spotlight out of the colder seasons(and hopefully will make impact in the warmer ones).

The first print we’re going to discuss is grid and as some call it window pane print. Grid print is like plaid’s little cousin, cute but doesn’t get as much attention.Monochrome grid print goes good with just about every color and metal.Playing with texture comes natural to grid print. One texture in particular that I favor is quilted to add to grid, but feel free to experiment with this versatile trend.

The second print is houndstooth. Houndstooth tends to gravitate towards pencil skirts and trench coats but if that doesn’t sound like you, don’t worry. Houndstooth is now finding itself on sweatshirts, sweaters, skater dresses and a lot more. You can also see houndstooth sitting at the cool kids table with plaid, the two opposing prints tend to find themselves in one outfit, using red plaid as the pop against houndstooth.

The 3rd print is for the star in all of us. I noticed the usage of stars in more items back during Wild Fox’s Clueless inspired campaign.Stars are for fun outfits and although it’s not as popular,it’s still optimistic.I for one am all for seeing stars in my clothing, why not let my clothing reflect my personality lol.

Tell me about a print you have your eye on(that isn’t plaid), in the comment section!
