Does Fashion Week Affect Your Personal Style
Fashion week is a massive style frenzy of shows, street style and bursts of creativity. The event historically dominates the media every time of the year, it’s in magazines, your favorite social media platform, and television. There’s not doubting the effect fashion week has, but the question here is, what effect does it have on your personal style? I took to Instagram and Twitter with another She Has The Eye Style Survey and asked just that:
It’s nice to see some differing opinions above. We have fashion bloggers:
- http://belizabethselway.blogspot.com/(fashion student and aspiring designer)
- http://readydressedgo.blogspot.com/(fashion blogger and model)
- http://nuellasource.blogspot.com(fashion influence and makeup blogger)
- We also have the opinion of vintage shop owner Shop Lioness.
We have a mix point of views and perspectives. One stating that runway fashion doesn’t translate in real life, others who believe it inspires them to try new things and some who enjoy the fashion oriented week because it spurs street style.
My personal opinion on Fashion Week is that there are certain shows I look forward to because I tend to like their designing aesthetic.Although I do like the shows I admit they don’t affect my personal style because my personal style and I have an intimate relationship. When I approach the fashion week collections I look at it like it’s an art show, something to marvel at, appreciate the time and effort that went into the work and enjoy it, but would I necessarily wear everything I see…no.Perhaps fashion week isn’t about affecting our individual styles but more so the designers finally unveiling their projects in their true form before being altered into their ready to wear counterparts?Let me know in the comment section how fashion week affects you!
