Today, I want to introduce to you a new section of this blog called, Fashion Quotes Explained where we take one quote from an MVP in the fashion industry, dissect it and apply to our daily, styling lives. The quote we’re going to be examining today comes from none other than Marc Jacobs. “Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them.” — Marc Jacobs.

When we get dressed in the morning some of our goals for preparing an ensemble are comfort and confidence. Why do we get dressed with certain things in mind, why do we have goals formed within our preparation? We want to get ready for our day. We want a uniform designed to take on the world, designed to live in and to win in.

You can have as many fabulous, amazing clothes as possible but what really matter is the person within them. The person within the outfit is going to take those clothes, attach stories to them, achievements to them, and emotions to them and expression to them. We have to remind ourselves of the person within the outfit versus idealizing the clothing itself, and remember the look was made for you instead of you being made for the look. Hopefully you enjoyed my interpretation of this famous quote from thee esteemed Marc Jacobs as I look forward to sharing much more with you all. Let me know in the comment section how you feel about this quote from Marc Jacobs.
