Our Top Five Metallic Lip Tutorials + Swatches

Guess what eighties beauty trend is back with a vengeance? No, it's not an overzealous use of blush. No, it's not hella big hair with at least 6 bottles of hair spray in it, the trend that's back and making waves is *drum roll* METALLIC LIPS. Metallic lips in multiple shades are coming back this summer and although it won't be accompanied by other glamorous 80s trends like sweatbands and leg warmers, it's still a refreshing take on makeup.

We noticed this trend rising when Colourpop sold of their new metallic liquid lipstick line. Colourpop's metallic lip line sold out the first day they launched. In addition to Colourpop's line, Too Faced's Melted Liquid Lipsticks also has a metallic range one in particular that is all about chocolate to nude shades that I'm obsessed with, which you can see below.

I'm not too surprised that this trend has taken off. We've become comfortable with the strong hold of matte liquid lipsticks, why not try a new finish? If you're unsure of who these metallic lippies will look or how to incorporate them into your makeup routine, we got you covered. We have five videos dedicated to reviewing, swatching and teaching us how to apply this new makeup trend.

These metallic lips always make a statement with a matching bronzey or dewey look. I wonder what these metallic lips would look like paired with a matte look, even though matte makeup looks would be better for fall. Is this metal lip a trend solely for the summer or can you see it transitioning into the fall? You guys know I'm nosey, let me know in the comment section below if you think this look is ideal for all year round.
