ColourPop Blush: Bardot

I've been obsessed with warmer, dewy and natural-ish makeup looks for a while now. I've been on the hunt for anything that brings heat to my already warm undertones. The look for spring and summer is all about having moisturized, healthy and flushed skin that aids in the popping of your melanin. I'm thinking sun kissed looks with golden highlighters and some berry lips with a little shine. So in my pursuit of looking honey dipped and warm I purchased this blush from Colourpop by the name of Bardot.

Bardot is a Super Shock Blush in a red shade with copper undertones and a little shimmer. The tone picks up well on my dark skin and definitely heats up my face. The texture is creamy so be careful in its application. Many of ColourPop's products tend to have a softer, creamier texture and it's encouraged to use the fingers when applying the blush. I found that after applying my makeup it would be best for me to set my initial base, let it dry then use my fingers or a sponge to apply the blush without disturbing my foundation.

I find that the blush is buildable but it's all about the application due to the texture you don't want your blush to end up looking caky or muddy. Using a sponge and some setting spray to help blend this shade out has helped me little by little and with the right golden highlight it gives me that warmth I've been living for.
